This is a 2 part course � each part (module) is a 3 hour classroom session.
Module One:
Introduces the student to Maritime Mobile Service, Regulations and Procedures. Students are taught the uses of marine radios, choice of frequencies, operation, phonetic alphabet, procedural words and phrases.Module Two:
Covers Digital Selective Calling and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System, (DSC/GMDSS). This module is of great importance today.On successful completion of the course students are awarded the Restricted Operators Certificate (ROC M) with a Digital Selective Calling endorsement (DSC). This ROC licence is a Canadian Government issued card, allowing you to operate a marine VHF radio with selective calling.
