The Coastal Navigation course teaches you skills that ensure safe and successful navigation in coastal waters. A must for sailing along our coastal waters.
The in classroom sessions take place weekly over a 7 week period (6.30 � 9.30 pm) as well as a one 4 hour on the water session ( Saturday or Sunday) and a written exam.

Radio Aids to marine navigation

Navigation terminology as adopted by CYA

Terms & characteristics used for lighted aids to navigation

Significance of shapes, colours and lights used in the aids to the Navigation System
On successful completion of the Coastal Navigation course you gain the confidence to safely navigate through challenging conditions, shallow waters, changing tides, and currents.
Prerequisite:
None but it is a prerequisite to the Advanced cruising Standard and for bareboat chartering
