Nanaimo Yacht Charters is one of the first locations on Vancouver Island to host famous JibSet Sailing Club.

A fleet of fun easily maintained boats that are specifically designed for the concept of "Quality experience through unique access"
- New sailors who have the basic cruising skills can build their experience by sailing the club's boats in the company of more seasoned sailors.
- Accumulating experience on the water and taking intermediate and advanced and naviagation courses through our sister company - Nanaimo Yacht Charters- are your stepping stones to bare boat chartering in Canada and abroad.
- If you do not own your own boat this is the perfect way to sail and have lots of fun.
- Being member-driven means that the club relies on member input to guide and run its programs. It also requires member involvement in organizing club events and maintaining our fleet of boats in tip-top condition. Our membership initiation fees and monthly dues are reasonable and our club is run by and for our members.
- If you do not know how to sail, the best way to ensure you develop the skills is to practice sailing with other members and gain experience at the same time as you complete your lessons.
Jib Setters today are continuing the work of our founders whose vision was to make sailing boats accessible to everyone without the commitment and expense of boat ownership. The club is a community that encompasses the values of our predecessors ... mentoring, seamanship and most importantly FUN.
These values are encapsulated in the mission statement:
"... to maximize our members' enjoyment of the sailing lifestyle in an inclusive and safe environment and to promote excellent seamanship through mentoring and experience on the water."

The size of the fleet is ajusted according to membership levels - a ratio of roughly 12 members to each boat is anticipated in the fleet as a guiding principle. Currently two Catalina's will also be used by the club.

All reservation functions are on the Jib Set Web based platform.

Those 18 year olds and younger may sail aboard club boats providing there are at least two club members on board - at least one of them is the parent or legal guardian who takes responsibility for the safety of the young crew members.

Each member is given four guest passes each year and can purchase more. A guest crew may sail on club vessels four times and if they wish to sail again they will need to become members.
The Nanaimo Jib Set club will be structured in a similar manner to the Jib Set Sailing Club Vancouver.
