Marine Technician full time permanent.
Charter division
Report to: Charter Base Manager and in his/her absences the Chief Executive Officer
Spring through to Fall 40 hour per week: Winter 35 hours per week
$20 per hour
Overall responsibility: Work with charter fleet staff and interface with all levels of management to ensure a world class charter product.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair boats in the charter fleet.
- Using diagnostic equipment, to test and repair boat engines, hulls, propellers, rigging, masts, sails, and navigational equipment.
- Install and test sanitation and electrical and engine driven refrigeration systems, cabinetry, electrical systems, steering gear, and accessories.
- Install and maintain marine toilet systems
- Repair and maintain plumbing
- Repair and maintain diesel engines
- Repair outboard engines
- Repair, replace vessel rigging systems
- Prepare vessels for charter during the charter season
- Prepare vessels for winter and summer seasons
- Cleaning of vessels such as detailing varnishing and maintenance of bright work.
- Assist with vessel haul outs and scraping and painting of vessel hulls
- Move vessels to and from various slips.
- Brief and de brief charter guests
- Drive the company power boat to visit and assist charter guest with vessel challenges at sea.
- Take on other responsibilities as directed by management
- Strong sense of customer service
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to move vessel under sail and power
- Minimum four years experience in the charter business
Certificate or diploma in related field e.g. Diesel repair Marine
