I have known Shari and Ian MacPherson for 10 years, having first met
them when they operated Sunsail Canada in Coal Harbour in Vancouver. I
was so impressed with their attention to detail, their insistence on
everything being right, the commitment to customer satisfaction and
the work ethic of everyone involved in their business, that I
purchased a boat and put it in their fleet.
When they purchased Naniamo Yacht Charters I was approached by Ian and
asked if I wished to continue chartering my boat through their
business and without giving it a moment's thought I said yes. Shari
and Ian and Lorraine run a professional organization, no detail is too small
to
ensure customer satisfaction.
I would describe them as hardworking,
ethical business people and would have no hesitation in recommending
them to anyone who is considering placing their boat in charter or

Quite simply, we cannot recommend Nanaimo Yacht Charters and Sailing School highly enough. We have known Ian and Shari McPherson since 2003 when we first purchased our 46-foot Beneteau from them when they managed SunSail Canada in Vancouver.
Our boat remained active in their charter fleet until September 2006 when we became full-time cruisers. During the time that we had our boat managed by the McPherson’s we had total peace of mind and complete confidence in them. Our boat was chartered out more often than we had expected (and we still were able to enjoy lots of personal off-season sailing) and it was maintained to the highest standards.
We also had the added benefit of learning from them, as they are both proficient sailors and Ian is a gifted mechanic. If there is anything that Ian doesn’t know about sailing and boats…it isn’t worth knowing. My husband took his sailing instructor course from Ian and I also got lots of tips from him. I’m delighted that they are now offering a sailing school in addition to the charter business as Ian and his team are very patient, have a passion for sailing and will make any student feel much more confident and proficient.
In summary, everything at Nanaimo Yacht Charters is first class…from the website, to the office staff and to the work ethic and integrity in which they operate their business. We salute Ian and Shari and the team at Nanaimo Yacht Charters.
